Here we will look at how to figure out what notes belong to a specific type of chord by looking at the formulas used for each chord type to determine which notes to play in any of the 15 Major Key Signatures.

Using the table of Major Scale Notes simply find the type of Chord you want to play in the Table of Chord Formulas and alter the notes of the Major Scale.

Example: How to figure out the notes of a Cm7 Chord:
  1. Find the Minor Seven Chord formula.
    1     b3     5     b7

  2. Find the C Major Scale notes required.
